Basketball Clinic Preseason
Fall Clinics for boys and girls in grades K - 8.
Weekly clinic sessions designed to develop and reinforce fundamental skills. Clinics will run for four weeks at 60 minutes per session. This is a great way to prepare for the regular season.
Recreation Basketball will provide boys and girls with an environment where they can learn the fundamentals of the game and develop their skills – while still having fun. This program runs from November until January.
Boys Basketball
Fee: $60.00 resident/$70.00 non-resident
K-2nd : Developmental clinic sessions for grades K-2 in lieu of league games – 60 minute station clinics once a week with scrimmage games.
3rd & 4th Grade: Instructional league for 3rd and 4th grade boys – modified rules and instructional format designed to introduce the concept of team basketball (i.e. man-to–man defense within 3 point line, limited violations and equal playing time).
5th & 6th Grade: Recreation league for 5th & 6th grade boys; will operate under modified rules designed to reinforce concept of team basketball (i.e. half court man-to-man defense, full court press last 2 minutes of each half and equal playing time).
7th & 8th Grade: Recreation league for 7th & 8th grade boys; will operate under official High School rules and regulations while providing equal playing time for all players.
Girls Basketball
Fee: $60.00 resident/$70.00 non-resident
K-1st: Developmental clinic sessions for grades K-1 in lieu of league games – 60 minute station clinics once a week with scrimmage games.
2nd & 3rd Grade: Instructional league for 2nd and 3rd grade girls – modified rules and instructional format designed to introduce the concept of team basketball; equal playing time for all players.
4th - 8th Grade: Recreation league will operate under modified rules designed to reinforce concept of team basketball (i.e. half court man-to-man defense, 1/2 court press last 2 minutes of each half); equal playing time for all players. Grade separations will be based on participation.
Rec Select/Travel
The Select Basketball program allows for more competitive play and is a travel program for children in the 3rd through 6th grade. The program runs from October through February. The girls will be able to represent Lumberton in the ICBL league and play against other townships from throughout South Jersey. The boys represent Lumberton in the SJBL league, playing against other townships from throughout South Jersey. In the spring, based on interest, both boys and girls have the option to represent Lumberton in the Spring JKMBA league.
We encourage all children that may be interested in this program to participate in the tryouts.
Tryouts are held in October.
Adult Men's Basketball
Fee $35 - Residents Only
This program is held on Tuesday nights starting in November and running until the end of March in the LMS gym from 7:00 - 9:00pm. Supervised pick up games only.
