Attention Coaches - Protective Eyewear Requirement
A New State Law requires children who wear eyeglasses to wear protective eyewear while participating in certain sports activities. Sample activities include basketball, soccer, baseball, and softball. Recreation departments are not liable for failure to enforce the act. Please make sure your child has the appropriate eye wear protection. If you have any questions, please call.
"No school, community or government agency engaged in organizing, teaching, refereeing or coaching a sports activity described in section 1 of this act ( Chapter 306 ) shall be liable in a civil action for failure to administer or enforce the provisions of this act." This takes effect July 11, 2006.
