Mad Science 2010 - 2011

Mad Science Summer Camps - Two new camps this year. Register for one or both of these fun filled camps. There is a minium number to register or camp may be canceled. Minium has been meet. There is a maxium of 20 registrants for this program.

Camp #1
Ages: 6 - 12 years (must have completed Kindergarten)
Dates: August 2nd through August 6, 2010
Time: 9:00 - 12:00pm
Location: Township Building Community Room
Fee: $140 resident/$150 non-resident
Registration Deadline: July 16, 2010 or until filled.

Mad Machines & Jr. Engineers - Whether your child loves to build things or destroy them, this week of camp includes lots of both! The junior Mad Science engineers will design and build Bridges and Skyscrapers and even construct a Geodesic Dome big enough for all the campers to sit inside! Then the machine madness starts.. This journey will include many different machines, simple & complex, we use in our daily lives. Campers will have fun building their very own Catapults, Sonic Race Car and much more to take home from this Awesome Camp!

Space: Infinity & Beyond! - Students explore the mysteries of the solar system and the science behind air & space travel. Children discover not only how astronauts get into space, but also how they live and work once they get there. In this advance space program, we will investigate unique flying machines, including building balloon-copters, boomerangs and a mini hovercraft as take home projects for the children. Most importantly, they learn first hand about the aerodynamic properties of flying machines by building their own Estes model rockets! Once the rockets are completed, children wil blast off on a real Mad Science space mission Live Rocket Launches!

November 6th, 2010: COST $40 per child
Radical Reactions & Crazy Chemistry! - All New from 9:30 AM-12:30 PM - Min of 12 & Max of 20 - For Grades K-5th.
Calling all Junior Mad Scientists and Crazy Chemists! Want to have tons of fun mixing up potions and experimenting with all kinds of chemical reactions! Children will create exothermic and endothermic reactions. Experiment with chromatography and they will even create their own sidewalk chalk and crystal gardens as special take home projects.

February 12th, 2011: COST $40 per child

Slimy Science & Smokey Ice! - All New from 9:30 AM-12:30 PM - Min of 12 & Max of 20 - For Grades K-5th.

Join us in the Ooey, Gooey Slime World! Children will learn all about polymers and Mad Science Putty to take home. They will also build marshmallow molecules and cover a nickel in copper while learning about matter. The final portion of the class is the "Absolute Coolest" loaded with fantastic dry ice demonstrations. Watch with smoking & bubbling flasks, screaming spoons and a spooky haunted house scene for the finale! Come get Slimed with your friends!

April 9th, 2011: COST $40 per child

Earth's Amazing Wonders! - All New from 9:30 AM-12:30 PM - Min of 12 & Max of 20 - For Grades K-5th.

Mother Earth's awesome power in the form of Volcanoes and Earthquakes - Make this program ROCK! In the exciting and interactive program, children will investigate the basics of geology and make a Volcano with their classmates. They will also take home rocks and minerals that they’ll discover while “panning for gems.” During this "down to Earth" experience children will also make and take home a string of ultra violet beads and a colorful layered sedimentary tubes.
